am from a small Appalachian town nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. Studying astronomy, I learned the art and science of photography: composing celestial life, developing film, and printing. Changing paths, I earned a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia. Relocating to New York enabled me to rediscover photography in a Photo I class at Manhattan taught by Andrew Shapiro. |
I learned by shooting street scenes emulating a journalistic style in black & white film. From this experience, I started making environmental portraits, photographing headshots, bands, commercial work, events, and weddings. Observing people, creating sense and order from chaos and capturing random moments are what fuel my desire to shoot. Wedding Photography is simultaneously social and artistic planned and spontaneous. I have been loving every second! |
